Comments
When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes public next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images, avoid images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract any location data from images.
Cookies
- If you leave a comment, you may opt‑in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies. These last for one year.
- When you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. It holds no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
- When you log in, we set cookies to save your login info and screen choices. Login cookies last two days, screen‑options cookies last one year. Selecting “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
- Editing or publishing an article adds an additional cookie that simply stores the post ID of the article edited. It expires after one day.
